What each mission teaches

Generated from the game's own content, so it is always current. Each mission has three legs: a reading leg, a math leg, and a follow-the-steps leg. The briefing named for each leg is what that leg teaches before it tests it. Where a leg has no briefing yet, the sheet says so.

Reading, every mission

Five questions in the same shape: two details, one word defined in the text, one inference ("why"), one main idea. Passages run from about 180 to 320 words, most of them close to 290. Measured across all 180, the medians are grade 7.8 by Flesch-Kincaid and 6.4 by Coleman-Liau. They are the same for every grade — at grades 7 and 8 the questions on that passage are harder, not the passage itself.

The line under each campaign below is that campaign's own number: the median of its five passages, measured the same way. Those same five passages are the ones every grade reads.

Placing a student who starts mid-year

Pick where the student should begin. The link marks the earlier missions of that campaign as skipped (not scored) so the student starts there. Hand the link to the student or the family; it works on any device.
